Charging Starting

As time goes on, components in the 7.3-liter V-8 Powerstroke’s electrical starting system can wear out and fail, leaving you stranded. The turbo-diesel engine can require a new 7.3 Powerstroke starter, alternator, glow plugs, or battery cables after years of operation.

Located underneath the truck’s passenger side behind the frame crossmember, the starter may need to be replaced if there are long crank times or a clicking noise while trying to crank the engine. In addition, starting issues can stem from damaged battery cables or a strained 7.3 Powerstroke alternator.

Upgrade your electrical starting system with ProSource Diesel’s selection of starters, alternators, 7.3 glow plugs, and more.
