Transmissions have a tough job. A 6.6L LB7 Duramax engine is capable of throwing out up to 300 horsepower and producing up to 500-520 lb/ft of torque. All of that power travels through the transmission system, so it’s important to make sure your Duramax Allison transmission, or LB7 transmission in the older models, is up for the job.

If you’re restoring an older truck, or the transmission has become heavily damaged, you should opt for an LB7 transmission rebuild kit which contains all of the parts you’ll need to completely rebuild an LB7 transmission.

For newer trucks, you may need to find parts or a kit designed to replace an Allison transmission for Duramax. A wide selection of Duramax Allison transmission parts are available below. If you have an LB7 transmission that doesn’t need a complete rebuild, you can also find individual parts for that too including an LB7 torque converter, and an LB7 transmission cooler. 

Certain parts, like the Duramax transmission pan, are universal and should fit all Duramax transmission systems. While it may not stand out as much as other parts, a transmission pan is still a vital component of your truck. Damage to the pan could result in a transmission fluid leak which will eventually result in damage to more expensive parts or a complete failure of the transmission system.
