It’s not unknown that Ford’s 6.0 Powerstroke V-8 engine was prone to many ailments. Some of those problems revolve around the Super Duty’s cooling systems.

If the temperatures for your engine oil and coolant is greater than 14 degrees while under operation, it may be time for a new 6.0 Powerstroke oil cooler. Sand and other foreign particles can clog the oil cooler, later resulting in a failed EGR cooler. Poor-quality oil can also clog the oil cooler.
