Turbocharger

The first Duramax to use a variable vane turbocharger and exhaust gas recirculation, the 310-horsepower 6.6-liter V-8 engine featured a Garrett GT3788VA and an air-to-air intercooler. The LLY turbo had taller vanes and a larger compressor wheel than the previous LB7 IHI fixed geometry turbo.

However, the turbocharger’s air inlet manifold restricts airflow into the unit, causing the turbo to work harder than necessary and resulting in greater exhaust temperatures. Performing an LLY turbo upgrade can help increase efficiency and provide cooler temperatures.

Improve your 6.6’s boost, horsepower, throttle response, and exhaust gas temperatures with an LLY Duramax turbo upgrade from ProSource Diesel.
