2006-2007 6.6L DURAMAX LBZ TRUCK PARTS

In 2006, Chevy created the LBZ Duramax engine featuring an upgraded computer system compared to the 2004.5 to 2005 LLY engine. This upgrade enables the injectors to fire off five bursts of fuel during each combustion cycle. Not only does this improve performance, but it was a necessary software upgrade to meet the updated emission standards of 2007. At the time, the Duramax LBZ lead the field against Powerstroke and Cummins with 360 horsepower and 650 foot-pounds of torque. The LBZ labeled engines have several internal upgrades compared to the LLY including a taller deck height and a lower compression. These changes enable the Duramax LBZ to handle a higher boost level and additional power compared to other diesel engines making it a perfect candidate for Duramax performance upgrades.
