Sensors

Just like the LBZ it replaced, the Duramax 6.6-liter LMM engine is known for its overall reliability.

To help GM meet stricter emissions standards, the LMM was equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation system. However, in 2011, the automaker issued a recall for the Duramax EGT sensor as inadequate circuit board welds could fail and lead to exhaust gas not filtering properly, resulting in reduced power. Replacing both EGT sensors remedied the problem.

The LMM turbo vane position sensor is another weak point for this engine. Responsible for controlling the position of the Garrett GT3788VA variable geometry turbo’s vanes, a malfunctioning sensor can cause turbo vanes to become stuck in one position, causing intermittent power.

ProSource Diesel’s wide selection of diesel parts includes everything you need to replace Duramax sensors and wiring components to keep your truck on the road.
