1998-2003 7.3L Ford Powerstroke

A very common problem on the 7.3l Powerstroke is that the main connector at the valve cover melts down this connector handles the current for both the glow plugs and injectors (both of which are under the valve covers.) The purpose of this kit is to repair the connector on the outside of the valve cover which is really a part of the engine wiring harness. This will save you time and money as opposed to buying a whole new engine wiring harness. Often times when this failure occurs, you will also need to replace the valve cover gasket, and the internal harnesses under the valve cover as well to prevent a repeat failure (sometimes the failure is due to oil seeping into the connector). This kit will work on mid-1997 and up to 2003 7.3l Powerstroke engine only. If you have a 1997 model you need to check the number of electrical connectors you have per valve cover. If you have a single connector per side, this is the correct kit. If you have two connectors per valve cover This kit includes one connector with 12 inches of wiring this is sufficient to repair one side. We use 12 in of wire length. When making this repair we recommend you completely bypass the wiring in the factory harness for the glow plugs (4 brown wires). Then connect this harness directly to the GPR glow plug relay with a 1/2 ring terminal so your glow plugs get maximum voltage. Our connectors are the highest quality OEM Delphi and are assembled in house at our shop. We test fit them  to new valve cover gaskets before shipment to verify fit and quality.
