1998-2018 5.9L 6.7L Cummins 24V

C-188/220 (Street & Strip)

The Hamilton Cams 07-CC-24V188 Hot Street 188/220 Camshaft Combo is a valvetrain upgrade for the weekend warrior with a 1998.5-2018 Dodge 5.9L/6.7 Cummins. This camshaft combo can be used in a Daily Driver but it really comes alive at the sled pulls, such as Stock class pulling and the drag strip. This combo kit is perfect for larger single, or compound turbos and includes tappets, camshaft, and valve springs. The 103 lb valve springs help to prevent valve float in higher horsepower and higher RPM applications. The Heavy-Duty Pushrods will not flex like the stock pushrods, preventing loss in valve lift or retarded timing.

Although this camshaft is considered a drop-in replacement, it is important to check clearances. In 1998.5 – 2002 Cummins applications, you will need no more than .025″ piston protrusion and a minimum of .038″ valve face depth with a standard gasket. The 2003 to 2018 Cummins engines will need .018″piston protrusion and a minimum of .038″ valve face depth with a standard gasket. If you do not meet the requirements for the piston to valve clearance, you can still run an oversize head gasket or cut valve reliefs.

Features:

  • 188/220 Camshaft
  • 103LB Valve Springs
  • New Lifters/Tappets
  • Heavy Duty Pushrods
  • Ideal For Larger Single, Or Set Of Compound Turbos
  • Great For Drag Strip Or Sled Pulls (Stock Class Pulling)

Specifications:

  • Drops EGTs 200-300
  • RPM Range: 1700-4500
  • Duration at .050″ of Lift 188 Intake, 220 Exhaust

C-178/208 (Towing & Efficiency)

The Hamilton Cams 07-CC-24V178 Towing 178/208 Camshaft Combo is engineered for the daily driver or tow rig looking for better efficiency in your 1998.5-2018 Dodge 5.9L/6.7 Cummins. This camshaft has a short duration and wide lobe separation angle and the least amount of overlap (when intake and exhaust valves are both open at the same time). The lack of overlap stops in cylinder EGR on engines that have greater drive pressure than boost pressure. If you live in higher elevations, do a lot of heavy hauling, or are looking for greater efficiency for highway driving, this cam can help considerably.

Although this camshaft is considered a drop-in replacement, it is important to check clearances. On 1998.5 – 2002 applications, you will need no more than .025″ piston protrusion and at least .038″ valve face depth with a standard gasket. 2003 to 2018 Cummins engines need .018″piston protrusion and at least .038″ valve face depth with a standard gasket. If you do not meet the minimum requirements for the piston to valve clearance, you can still run an oversize head gasket or cut valve reliefs.

Features:

  • 103 Valve Springs
  • 178/208 Camshaft
  • New Lifters/Tappets
  • Heavy Duty Pushrods
  • Great For Towing Applications
  • Improved Fuel Economy 1-3 MPG
