The Hamilton Cams 07-CC-12V188 Hot Street 188/220 Camshaft Combo is the ultimate setup for the weekend warrior with a 1989-1998 Dodge 5.9L Cummins. This camshaft kit can be used in a Daily Driver but it really shines at the drag strip or sled pulls, such as Stock class pulling. Ideal for larger single, or set of compound turbos, this cam combo includes a camshaft, tappets, valve springs, locks, and retainers. These beehive valve springs will support up to 4500 RPMs for high revving applications.
Although this cam is considered a drop-in, it is important to check engine clearances. For this camshaft to be a true “drop-in” on a 12v, you need no more than .025″ piston protrusion. At least .055″ valve face depth with a standard head gasket and a 99 intake centerline is required for a hassle-free installation.

The Hamilton Cams 07-CC-12V178 Towing 178/208 Camshaft Combo is an all-inclusive valvetrain kit to get the most out of your 1989-1998 Dodge 5.9L Cummins tow rig. This camshaft has a short duration and wide lobe separation angle and offers the least overlap (when intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time). This lack of overlap kills in-cylinder EGR on engines that have higher drive pressure than boost pressure. If you live in higher altitudes, do a lot of heavy towing, or are looking for the most efficiency for highway driving, this cam will help considerably. For Example: On a Dodge with a 62mm turbo and 80hp injectors, this cam picked up 40hp at 1700rpm since it moves much more air at lower RPMs and helps the turbo spool faster. This camshaft kit is ideal for daily drivers looking to increase efficiency or do a fair amount of towing.
