Motorcraft® MERCON® ULV is a premium-quality automatic transmission fluid recommended by Ford Motor Company for use in Ford F-150 and Raptor with the 10R80 automatic transmission. Check Owner Guide, workshop manual, and transmission fluid charts for application information. Motorcraft® MERCON® ULV is an ultra-low viscosity fluid manufactured with a high-viscosity index, premium-quality, hydro-processed base oils, and specially designed performance additives. Transmissions designed for this fluid provide improved fuel economy, excellent shifting characteristics at high and low ambient temperatures, and guards against transmission shudder. This fluid has excellent thermal and oxidation performance. It has improved shear stability, for less viscosity loss for the life of the fluid, and improved low temperature fluidity, providing proper transmission function at all temperatures. It provides wear protection and inhibits the formation of gum, sludge, lacquer, and foam. It also prevents rust and corrosion. It is dyed red for ease of leak detection. Before servicing Ford and Lincoln Customer vehicles, the quart bottles should be shaken, as instructed on the front of the bottle label, to ensure the additives are mixed well with the fluid. Failure to shake the bottle before use can result in the additives not being mixed well and cause damage to the transmission. Any fluid left in the bottle should not be saved and should be recycled.
